Research Led and Practice Driven Learning and Teaching at Swansea

Powerpoints from our internal event on Learning and Teaching that is Research led and Practice Driven can be found on our website here - http://www.swan.ac.uk/registry/QualityAssuranceandEnhancement/QualityEnhancement/LearningTeachingResources/#Learning%20and%20Teaching%20that%20is%20Research-Led%20and%20Practice-Driven

The event focussed on sharing internal examples of good practice in research/practice led teaching across the institution. Examples from Classics, Psycholgy and Health Science (featuring Dr Emrys Jenkins) were presented.

Looking through my notes I found our 'homework'.
  1. Best thing - Opportunity to discuss with colleagues from other institutions how they are managing research/teaching strategies and wider issues of enhancing learning and teaching.
  2. Take back - Apart from the PEDR Plan for Swansea which we drafted - I am currently looking at Case Study 8: Sydney Recognising and Rewarding Good Teaching in Mick's Strategies for Developing and Supporting Pedagogic Research & Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
  3. To improve - i think had we had a couple more people from across our institution we could have better planned RLT strategies for our institution
